This Sunday, June 27, the Hometown Foundation, Inc. and Bozzuto’s Inc. will be hosting a motorcycle ride and remembrance fundraiser for the New Haven Fire Department following the tragic fire that occurred on Valley Street, as well as the sudden loss of William McMillian. The anticipated attendance for this honorable ride will be 100 to 500 individuals.
This ride is being made possible in partnership with the New Haven Firefighters Union, IGA Grocery Stores, Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club, Because Of The Brave, Trantolo & Trantolo, Haymond Law, CT Charity Rides, and local and state Law Enforcement.
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. at Bozzuto’s Inc. corporate offices located at 155 Schoolhouse Rd. The event will include a bike blessing, bagpipe ensemble, and patriotic salute, and the ride will be police escorted. Food trucks and local vendors will be available on-site. Due to the magnitude of the event, all safety precautions will be taken. As a result, this ride is only open to motorcyclists. Unfortunately, organizers are unable to accommodate any vehicles besides those of law enforcement.
General spectators are invited for the kick-off as well as to watch the ride from Route 10. The ride will kick off promptly at 10 a.m. and will start and end at the Cheshire location.
All funds raised will go directly to the New Haven Firefighter Benevolent Fund. The Hometown Foundation is asking for a $10 donation per rider. Passengers are an additional $10 donation. The Foundation welcomes donations of any amount. To pledge a donation and reserve your spot, please visit https://AHerosRide.givesmart.com.
