CHS Heads Back To The Roaring 20’s This Weekend In “Chicago”

Are you ready to be transported back to the Roaring ’20s … 1920s, that is? If so, strap on your dance shoes this week for the Cheshire High School Drama Club’s production of the Broadway favorite, “Chicago: High School Edition.” This adaptation of John Kander and Fred Ebb’s legendary and award-winning musical “about fame, fortune and acquittal” promises to engross the Cheshire community in the same way it has musical lovers around the world for decades. Adapted to be suitable for high school-aged performers, the production follows the story of Roxie Hart, who kills a faithless lover and convinces her husband Amos to take the fall for the crime. However, when Amos discovers the betrayal, he figures turnabout is fair play, landing Roxie on death row where she meets Velma Kelly.

Performances will be held in the Thorp Auditorium March 24, 25, and 26, at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.showtix4u.com/events/chsdrama and any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Cost is $20 for adults, $18 for students and senior citizens.
