Cheshire Garden Club Observes 101st Anniversary

On June 7, a dozen members of the Cheshire Garden Club gathered in the Colonial Garden behind the Hitchcock-Phillips House, home of the Cheshire Historical Society, after their first in-person meeting in the Community Room in 15 months.

The program included the installation of new officers for the 2021-2023 term; a historical overview of the last two years by former President and Historian Inge Venus in front of a large pictorial collage; the presentation of the Club’s annual scholarship to graduating Cheshire High School Senior Kristen Daddi; the presentation of the design award bowl to former president Ginni Donovan in recognition of the National design award she won at the CT Flower Show in February 2020; several word games; a delicious luncheon; and the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to Society President Diane Calabro for her most valuable assistance in setting up this special 101st anniversary meeting.

The club will meet again in September for its monthly program meetings.
