Cornerstone Church is hosting its fourth annual Pizza Tasting to benefit the Homeless of Waterbury this Saturday, Nov. 2, from 12 to 3 p.m.
For $15, attendees will be able to eat all they want of delicious pizza from local Cheshire restaurants. A raffle will also be offered.
Last year the event raised over $6,000 for the local homeless outreach center in Waterbury, run by the the Center for Human Development. Such fundraising has enabled the Center to open up on weekends during the cold winter months. The Hospitality Center located at 693 East Main St. in Waterbury is a place where the homeless can stay warm during the day.
This year, participating restaurants include Bella Gio’s, Cheshire Pizza, Anthony's, Mr.Bimonte’s, Pop’s Pizza, Rossini’s, Vespucci’s and Viron Rondo’s Osteria, as well as a new traveling pizza truck, Disco Ferno Pizza. The event received tremendous support from local businesses and individuals who donate their time, products and services for raffle items.
Tickets can be purchased in advance through Eventbrite or at the door on the day of the event.
