Horse Council Plans Meet And Greet

Horse Council Plans Meet And Greet

The Cheshire Horse Council will hold a Meet and Greet for new members at its monthly meeting on Monday, June 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Cheshire Historical Society, 43 Church Dr.

Those interested do not need to own a horse to join the Council. The common thread to the group is that all members love horses and enjoy the camaraderie of being together with others who share the same interest.

Some of the programs the Council has done in the past and looks forward to doing in the future include:

–a “touch-a-horse” experience for children and adults

–Outreach programs to area nursing homes/care facilities, such as the VA Hospital

–Pony rides for the community

–BBQs, barn dance and holiday party

–Trail rides

–Involvement in Cheshire Memorial Day parade

–Blessing of the Mounts

–Scholarships to high school students pursuing agricultural studies or equine interests

–Travel to polo matches and Equine Affaire

Join the Council for this special event. Refreshments and pizza will be served. All area residents from Cheshire and surrounding towns are welcome. For more information, call Bob Larosa at (203) 233-0766 or Carmelita Rifkin at (203) 525-7719.
