QPR Training Being Offered At Library

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Cheshire Public Library, Cheshire Health and Human Services Department, and Chesprocott Health District have partnered to offer free QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeping Training. The program will be held at the Cheshire Public Library, 104 Main St., on Thursday, May 26, beginning at 10 a.m.

People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. The program is expected to last 90 minutes. Space is limited and registration is required. Those interested must register by Tuesday, May 24, through the library’s event calendar at www.cheshirelibrary.org, or by calling (203) 272-2245.
