Resurfacing Continues On Route 42

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is milling and resurfacing Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.84-mile segment of Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10. Milling began Monday, April 19, and was scheduled end Thursday, April 22, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project began Monday, April 26, and is scheduled to run through Monday, May 3.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide drivers through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Drivers should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Drivers are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
