Rotary Donates Supplies For K-3 Reading program

The Rotary Club of Cheshire recently helped Youth Services with supplies for their new reading program for grades K-3, focusing on culture, compassion, kindness and courage.

This free six-week program for kindergarten through third grade will introduce young readers to an array of carefully selected books, crafts and activities that spark meaningful conversations. This new program is modeled after a previous program where each week readers work with a teen volunteer to encourage conversations and improve their literacy, all while having fun!

Lauren Blackwell-Rynich, the Youth Program supervisor for Cheshire Youth Services, is excited for the program, which is the first one of its kind offered at the Yellow House.
