The Katherine Toce Memorial Blood Drive will once again be held on Saturday, March 21, in the cafeteria of the Highland School, 490 Highland Ave., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Throughout Katherine’s cancer battle, she received many units of blood products to extend her life. The first blood drive in Katherine’s honor was organized by her brother Michael. Katherine’s family has partnered with the American Red Cross at least two times every year to make more people aware of the constant need for blood donations, and to continue Katherine’s legacy of kindness and service to others.
“Although I never had the honor of meeting Katherine in life, the mark she left on her community is unmistakable,” said Kelly Isenor, external communications manager for the Red Cross’s Connecticut Blood Services Region. “Her family has helped us collect more than 3,700 units of blood.”
