What To Know About Bulky Waste Pickup


Bulky Waste pickup is back, and will commence on Sept. 13. Dates of pickup will be based on residents’ normal trash pickup day:

The schedule is as follows:

•Week of Sept. 13 thru Sept. 17, households that have a Monday trash pickup. Please have all bulky items at the curb before Monday, Sept. 13.

•Week of Sept. 20 thru Sept. 24, households that have a Tuesday trash pickup. Please have all bulky items at the curb before Monday, Sept. 20.

•Week of Sept, 27 thru Oct, 1, households that have a Wednesday trash pickup. Please have all bulky items at the curb before Monday, Sept. 27.

•Week of Oct. 4 thru Oct. 8, households that have a Thursday trash pickup. Please have all bulky items at the curb before Monday, Oct. 4.

•Week of Oct. 11 thru Oct. 15, households who have a Friday trash pickup. Please have all your bulky items at the curb before Monday, Oct. 11.

In addition, the Town will offer other opportunities for residents to dispose of various items. The RWA Household Hazardous Waste will be open Saturdays, now through October. Also, the following events will be held:

•Mattress Recycling Event – Oct.16, Town Hall Parking Lot, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•Electronics Recycling Event – Oct. 9, Town Hall Parking Lot, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Important Collection
Information:

•Please note acceptable bulky waste piles are not to exceed 11 cubic yards (10’ x 10’ x 3’ high).

•Piles containing unacceptable items or piles exceeding the allowable collection size will be tagged.

•If you have questions about acceptable items, contact the Department of Public Works (203) 271-6650.

•Trash and recycling containers must be separate from your bulky waste. Please do not place your bulky waste in front of your containers.

•Do not place any bulky waste in plastic bags.
