The basketball game last Friday between Cheshire and West Haven took second stage to a more important cause. The contest served as host for the annual Coaches vs. Cancer event in Cheshire, where money is raised to help in the battle against the disease. Cheerleaders dressed in pink, as did many who attended the game, to show support for the cause, and attendees had the opportunity to purchase a card and write the name of a loved one who is or has suffered from the disease. The cards were then placed along the wall in the gymnasium for all to see.
In total, the event raised more than $1,000.
