Temple Lodge #16 Named April Beauty Spot Of Month

The Civics Committee of the Cheshire Garden Club has determined the winner for the April Beauty Spot of the Month and selected the Headquarters of Temple Lodge #16 Free Masons at 9 Country Club Road for the Public Beauty Spot.

Since its occupancy in 1958, the Mason Brothers have completely overhauled the former Connecticut Power Station building both inside and out. Over the years, the Community Room has served many organizations for their monthly meetings and festivities.

The side of the building facing Country Club Road was separated by a patch of green grass all these years until this Spring when a stunning display of thousands of daffodils immediately catches your eye as you turn onto Country Club Road from Highland Avenue.

Displaying the Beauty Sign plaque is Mason Master Philip Sharkey III, at left, who is joined by Mason Brother Ken Neumann. Sharkey stated that he planted all of the bulbs back in September and October of 2020, hoping that they would herald Spring come 2021 — and indeed they did.
