The weather wasn’t in the mood to cooperate, but that wasn’t going to stop Memorial Day weekend activities from happening in Cheshire on Saturday and Sunday.
It began on May 29, when volunteers participated in Flags Across Cheshire, placing small American flags at the gravestones of veterans. Then on Sunday, while the scheduled wreath laying ceremony had to be scaled back due to expected rain, the parade/motorcade went off without a hitch. Veterans drove through Cheshire neighborhoods as residents turned out on their front lawns and sidewalks to wave and cheer. The group was joined by members of the Police and Fire Departments as well.
