It’s Theater Season At Both Dodd And CHS

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning best musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, “Annie Jr.” features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s heart despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Dodd Middle School students will be performing this well-loved classic on Friday, March 17, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 18, at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens, and will be available at the door.

This year, Cheshire High School is excited to be producing “The Addams Family: A New Musical.” A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, and based on the beloved characters made famous by the television show, “The Addams Family,” this is sure to make all smile.

The plot follows beloved Wednesday Addams, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her eccentric parents Gomez and Morticia have never met. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Featuring all your favorite characters raising some kooky mayhem, “The Addams Family: A New Musical” is a delight for the entire family! Performances will be held on Thursday, March 23, Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25. All showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. at the Thorp Auditorium at CHS. Tickets are $18 for students and senior citizens, $20 for adults, and can be purchased by visiting
