The annual Music in Motion event kicked off last Saturday, albeit at an early time than expected.

The yearly marching band competition held at Cheshire High School, which attracts groups from all over the state, had originally been set to begin at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Maclary Athletic Complex behind CHS. However, because of concerns over Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and a recent decision by the Town to institute a curfew on activities taking place at public parks and outdoor facilities, the event was moved to the early afternoon.

That didn’t stop people from turning out to hear music from the area’s most talented marching bands, highlighted by a performance by Cheshire’s own Marching Ram Band.
