A week before Christmas and a day before the start of Hanukkah (Dec. 17), Cheshire High School students held their annual holiday-themed Winter Festival at CHS.
Families were greeted to a winter wonderland, where they could enjoy crafts, music, face painting, games, prizes, and pictures with costumed friends and Santa. Food and beverages were also available, in addition to festive baked goods to enjoy.
Many Cheshire clubs, teams, and groups took part, with almost 400 students participating.
Winter Festival partnered with the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation and all proceeds go to this charitable organization, which was established by a beloved CHS faculty member, Daniel Lee, in honor of his late son, Ryan. Cheshire High School teachers Maureen DiSorbo and Matthew Swanson started the first annual Winter Festival in 2012. Since then, both the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation and Winter Festival have developed into a Cheshire High School community event dedicated to giving back to the youth and families of Cheshire.
