The Cheshire Senior Center, 240 Maple Ave., is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about classes and programs, call the Administrative Office at (203) 272-8286. Transportation is available upon request by calling (203) 272-0047.

Cheshire Readers Book Club – Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Please read “Killers of the Flower Moon” by David Grann.

Photo ID – Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. Photos are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note date change.

Cuisine Club – Wednesday, Dec. 18, at noon. This month’s featured restaurant is The Griswold Inn in Essex. Transportation and lunch is limited to 24 people. To register or for additional information, call (203) 272-8286.

Tech Thursday – Thursday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon. A Cheshire Library staff member will provide one-on-one assistance with tech devices. First come, first served, no appointment required. 

Whist Holiday Party – Thursday, Dec. 19, at 12:30 p.m. Call the Senior Center office at (203) 272-8286 for more details.

The Cheshire Sherlock Holmes Society – Thursday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. Read “The Adventure of the Red Circle.” New members are always welcome. Any questions, email Andy at tranquilli@hotmail.com.

Holiday Jingle Mingle – Friday, Dec. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Sing along to favorite holiday tunes with music provided by the Senior Center’s very own Cheshire Key-Note Singers accompanied by Sal Anastasio. Come and support fellow members and share in some holiday cheer and refreshments. Registration is requested. Please bring a non-perishable food item or paper product, e.g. paper towels, to support the local food pantry.

Holiday Dance Party – Monday, Dec. 23, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Dance into the holidays with DJ Steve from Music by Design. Hors d’oeuvres, crudité platters, and desserts will be provided. Cost: $5. Registration is requested by Friday, Dec. 20. 

No Blood Pressure Screenings are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 24.

Movie Matinee: “The Art of Racing in The Rain” – Thursday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m. Based on the book by Garth Stein. Stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried and Kevin Costner as the voice of Enzo. Rated PG. (1 hr. 49 min.) Registration is required by Tuesday, Dec. 24.

Ask the Probate Judge – No meeting this month. Meetings will resume in January.
