Senior Center Programs

Senior Center Programs

In-person activities at the Senior Center, 240 Maple Ave., will remain on hold through February. The hope is for a return to in-person programming in March. All Winter Classes are being held via Zoom only.

Per current town policy, all visitors must wear face masks while visiting the Senior Center, regardless of vaccination status. Members can access the building Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Staff is available by phone and email Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Stefanie with any questions or concerns.

Transportation Update

Limited transportation services, for medical appointments in the service area and grocery shopping only, will start on Feb. 1. Remember that, typically, if school is canceled, vans do not run, and when school is delayed, early-morning pickups are canceled. Ride requests are accepted two weeks in advance. Requests made after 11 a.m. the day before a ride is needed are subject to availability.

Drivers accept cash donations as rider steps on the bus. Pricing is 50 cents each way for in-town and $5 round trip for out-of-town. Face masks are required on all public transportation, including all Cheshire Senior Center bus rides.

Schedule for Out-of-Town Medical Appointments:

Monday – Meriden

Tuesday – North Haven & Hamden

Wednesday – Wallingford

Thursday – New Haven

Friday – Southington

Ride requests are accepted for out-of-town medical appointments between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
