Solan Warns Community About Phone Scam

Solan Warns Community About Phone Scam

On Thursday, Oct. 10, Superintendent of Schools Jeff Solan sent out an email to the Cheshire school community warning that a phone scam involving Cheshire High School has been reported.

According to Solan, businesses around Cheshire have received calls from a Texas-based phone number — (682) 292-9292 — where the person claims to be a project coordinator for Cheshire High School.

The suspected scammer requests donations for Cheshire High School projects, and asks for $300  in order to place a special advertisement on a CHS football jersey.

Solan indicated in his email that other communities have been targeted by individuals using the same phone number.
