WALLINGFORD – Anne M. Thompson, 94, formerly of Hartford and Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the widow of Richard D. Thompson, who predeceased her in 2012 after 49 years of marriage.
She was born on August 11, 1926, in Bronx, N..Y, daughter of the late William D. and Anna M. (Ryan) O’Connor. Anne was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Hartford Public High School. She worked for many years at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company before relocating to Cheshire. Anne retired as an Administrative Assistant from the Town of Cheshire.
Anne was beloved by many, and is survived by her nephews, William III and his wife Ellen O’Connor, Christopher and his wife Catherine O’Connor, Nicholas and his wife Teenamarie Callahan, and Daniel and his wife Martha Callahan; her nieces, Elise O’Connor and Dina Nelson, Laura O’Connor, Noreen and her husband Fred Rivers, and Rosemary and her husband Daniel Brockman; 21 grandnieces and nephews; and several great-grandnieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear and devoted friends. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Catherine E. Callahan, and her brother William O’Connor, Jr.

A funeral mass for Anne will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, 06410. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will take place at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
