Joseph F. Mazzacane, Sr.


CHESHIRE – Joseph F. Mazzacane, Sr., 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at his residence in Cheshire, with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Leota (Seeley) Mazzacane.

Mr. Mazzacane was born on September 6, 1926, in New Haven, son of the late Frank and Maria (Zaino) Mazzacane. He graduated Commercial High School in 1945 and joined the United States Army. After his service, he returned to New Haven, Conn. Mr. Mazzacane was the owner of the Cheshire Barber Shop from 1951 until 2016. He loved his job and especially his family.

Mr. Mazzacane is survived by his three children, Joseph, Jr., Michael, and Maria; his 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Frank and many siblings.

Arrangements – A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
