SOUTHINGTON – Paul E. Nygard, age 71, of Southington, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Diane D. (Buehler) Nygard.
Paul was born on February 24, 1951, in Meriden, a son of the late Eric G. and Grace J. (Parmalee) Nygard. He was a graduate of Southington High School. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve during the Vietnam War. Paul had worked for many years as supervisor of buildings and grounds for Holiday Hill in Prospect.
He enjoyed traveling, especially his bi-yearly trips to Aruba, simple car rides with his wife, dining out, trips to Block Island, Chatham, movies, cooking, hanging out with his family, and was well known for his ability to be a prankster. He will be greatly missed by those blessed to know and love him.
Besides his beloved wife of 51 years of Southington, he leaves his daughter Erin Flavin of Southington, a sister Sharon Hudson of Southington, his grandchildren Quinn and Grace Flavin and Hannah Billado. He was predeceased by his daughter Melanie Nygard.
Arrangements: A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, Connecticut 06708. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Friends may celebrate Paul’s life at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
