CA Boys' Soccer And Girls' V-Ball Teams Earn Home Victories On Saturday, Cats Football Drops Thriller To Choate

On Saturday, Cheshire Academy boys’ soccer (6-6) built a 2-0 halftime lead en route to winning 3-1 over Wilbraham & Monson Academy. Omesi Abulu tallied two goals and an assist in the victory. Abraham Attah also netted a goal.

Hazar Demirkol and Russell Tevie added assists. In net, Owen Kempton posted six saves and Artan Redzepi had a save.

The Cats led 13-8 in shots.

On Wednesday, CA hosts Hopkins at 2:30 p.m.

Girls’ Volleyball (6-6)

CA rallied to earn a 3-1 victory (23-25, 25-20, 25-10, 25-19) over Suffield Academy, extending their win streak to three matches.

On Wednesday, the Cats travel to play Canterbury at 2:30 p.m.

Football (2-4)

The Cats fell 25-21 in a battle with rival Choate Rosemary Hall (4-1). Choate jumped out to an 11-0 lead, but the Cats came back with a pair of touchdown passes by Jack Brandon. CA went back ahead 17-14 at halftime.

CA retook the lead, 21-17, on a touchdown run by Jack Roberge in the third quarter, however Choate picked up a safety in the third and then used the third rushing touchdown by Jake Tuttle in the fourth to rally for the road victory.

Brandon completed seven of 20 passes for 160 yards. Jordan Robinson (three catches, 75 yards) and Jackson Parker (two, 65) both caught touchdowns.

The Choate defense made two interceptions. The scoring summary is listed below.
