On Tuesday, Cheshire High School soccer teams went 1-1 in 1-0 shutouts against Sheehan.
Cheshire extended their unbeaten streak to five games, winning 1-0 at Sheehan (1-4). In the 22nd minute, junior transfer Murphy Malone received a pass from sophomore Samir Dishnica and then navigated through defenders en route to scoring his first game-winner on a 25-yard shot.
Senior co-captain/goalkeeper Matt Pisani made a save in his third shutout of the season.
On Friday, the Rams travel to play defending Southern Connecticut Conference Champion Guilford (4-2) at 3:45 p.m.
Cheshire compiled a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal, but still fell 1-0 to Sheehan (3-2-1) to end a four-game win streak. Just five minutes and five seconds into the game, sophomore Dylan Smith scored the game-winner on a cross pass from junior Amy Casorla.
CHS controlled possession for the majority of the second half, however they were unable to get the equalizer. Senior tri-captain/goalkeeper Seymone Rosenberg earned a save, while Sheehan senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Arnold tallied nine saves in the shutout.
On Friday, Cheshire hosts Sacred Heart Academy (3-1-1) at 5 p.m.
