On Friday, Cheshire High School girls’ swim and dive (12-1) ended the dual-meet season with a 112-74 win over host Amity (10-3) at High Plains Community Center in Orange. Individually, senior tri-captain Avery Potyrala claimed the 200- (1:59.41) and 100-yard (54.36) freestyles, while junior Julia Barto won the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.62) and 100-yard backstroke (1:01.05).
Potyrala teamed with sophomores Natalia Gajecki, Carly Cahill, and Julia Tejeda to win the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:46.84). Junior Sella Cahill, sophomores Lauren Waitkus and Alicia Shatalov, and senior Vanessa Squillante sprinted to capture the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.05).
Senior tri-captains Hannah Tao (one-meter dive, 216.85) and Julianna Tyler (100-yard butterfly, 59.11) and Tejeda (500-yard freestyle, 5:30.91) also claimed victories.
On Oct. 29, CHS starts the post-season with the Southern Connecticut Conference diving final at Sheehan in Wallingford. Start time is 10 a.m.

Boys’ Soccer (10-2)
For the final regular-season home game, Cheshire faces Fairfield Prep (8-2-4) at 5 p.m. In a ceremony at 4:15 p.m., quad-captains Colin Brown, Samir Dishnica, Muluken Marchand, and Kevi Sulollari, as well as Luke Banach, Titus Barsczewski, Zach Chen, Jack Markarian, and John Tarca, will be recognized on Senior Night.
Since falling 2-1 to the Jesuits on Sept. 27 at Fairfield University, Cheshire has been on a six-game win streak.
