Cheshire Girls' Tennis Drops Battle Of The Rams In States


In the Class LL First Round on Saturday, Cheshire High School girls’ tennis (12th seed, 13-7) came up short 5-2 at New Canaan (fifth seed, 16-3). Sophomore Alex Orlins won 6-4, 6-3 to stay unbeaten for CHS, while classmate Eva Curran earned a 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 victory in the fourth spot.

Tuesday’s varsity schedule:

Boys’ Golf

At The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Cheshire will compete in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championship at 8:30 a.m.

Boys’ Tennis (15th seed, 9-10)

For the Class L Second Round, CHS visits New Canaan (10th seed, 11-6) to compete at 3 p.m.

Baseball (17th seed, 12-8)

CHS kicks off Class LL play with a trip to Danbury (16th seed, 12-8). The first-round game starts at 3:30 p.m.

Softball (sixth seed, 16-6)

In the Class LL First Round, Cheshire faces Westhill (27th seed, 8-12) at 4:15 p.m.

Girls’ Lacrosse (seventh seed, 15-3)

Riding a six-game win streak, Cheshire hosts Southington (10th seed, 18-1) in the Class L First Round at 5 p.m.
