On Monday at the Cheshire Community Pool, Cheshire High School boys’ swim (3-3) came up short 91-68 against Xavier (5-1). Senior tri-captains Alex Fang and Silas Wang both won two individual events, along with teaming with senior tri-captain Zack Schnitzer and senior Kristian Adlianitski on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:37.60).
Fang sprinted to take the 50- (22.87) and 100-yard (49.90) freestyles, while Wang was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.64) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.74). Schnitzer captured the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.08) and sophomore Omkar Narayanan claimed the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.93).
Individually, Adlianitski placed runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.02) and breaststroke (1:04.98).
On Jan. 30, the Rams head to Oxford for a meet at 4 p.m.
Girls’ Ice Hockey (0-13)
Amity/North Haven/Cheshire Co-Op dropped a tight one, 3-2, to Stamford/Westhill/Staples Co-Op (7-4-1) at Terry Conners Ice Rink in Stamford. The Connecticut Blades cut the deficit to 2-1 and 3-2, but came up one goal short.
Amity senior Samantha Drane tallied a goal and an assist. Amity senior Carly Silbert also netted a goal.
Cheshire sophomore Elaina Scasino added an assist. CHS freshman goalkeeper Lindsey DiNicola made 20 saves.
On Thursday at Hamden’s Louis Astorino Ice Arena, the Blades face West Haven/Sacred Heart Academy Co-Op (7-5) at 3:30 p.m. On Dec. 13, WH/SHA earned a 9-3 victory in the first meeting.

CHS hosts Branford at 6 p.m.
Girls’ Basketball (3-10)
Cheshire travels to New Haven to play Hillhouse (4-7) at 7 p.m. On Dec. 20, the Academics won 44-40 at CHS.
Boys’ Basketball (3-9)
CHS visits Branford (2-8) to compete at 7 p.m. In their home opener on Dec. 19, Cheshire won 57-47 over the Hornets.
