Ciccone Runs To Sixth In The State Open, Makes Regional Race


On Friday, Cheshire High School girls’ cross country wrapped up the team portion of the season in the State Open at Manchester’s Wickham Park. CHS finished ninth with 239 points.

Junior Alexa Ciccone led the way in sixth place (20:19). Individually, she qualified for the New England Interscholastic Championship on Nov. 12 at Ponaganset High School in North Scituate, Rhode Island.

Freshman Emily D’Souza (35th, 20:46) and junior Mia Vientos (71st, 21:39) joined Ciccone in the top 75 at Wickham Park.

Freshman Ava Ciccone (108th, 22:29), sophomore Eva Curran (118th, 22:37), senior Alex Palladino (154th, 23:54), and freshman Jocelyn Grace (171st, 25:47) wrapped up the lineup. A tri-captain with classmates Sam Mudry and Megan Rossi, Palladino will be the only graduate from the state lineup.
