Duncan Shines In Diving On Tuesday, Ram Wrestlers Come Up Short In New Haven

On Tuesday at Wesleyan University, Cheshire High School boys’ swim and dive (7-3) fell 96-85 to unbeaten host Xavier (9-0). In diving, junior Noah Duncan recorded his best score (246.75) to take first place and move up to eighth place on the CHS all-time list.

Xavier swept the swimming events.

On Feb. 11 at the Cheshire Community Pool, CHS hosts Suffield/East Windsor/Ellington/Windsor Locks Co-Op at 7 p.m.

Wrestling (1-9)

The Rams came up short, 37-24, against host New Haven Co-Op at Wilbur Cross. Junior co-captain Eli Moskowitz (132 pounds) and junior Zach Coleman (145) earned pins for Cheshire. Sophomores Bryan Hart (113) and Riaz Ras (220) won by forfeit.

On Saturday, CHS travels for the East Lyme Duals. Start time is 9 a.m.

Wednesday’s varsity schedule:

Girls’ Basketball (3-12, 1-4 in Quinnipiac Division)

CHS looks to end a six-game skid, traveling to Madison to face Daniel Hand (13-3, 5-0) at 7 p.m. On Jan. 13, Hand picked up a 51-29 victory at CHS.

Boys’ Basketball (1-12, 0-4 in Oronoque Division)

Cheshire aims to snap an 11-game slide in visiting Hartford to play Weaver (4-8) at 7 p.m.
