A pair of 2019 Cheshire High School graduates, freshmen Samantha Grenon (Bryant University-Rhode Island) and Ola Nawrocki (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute-New York), have both made an immediate impact with their college swim teams.
In her debut on Oct. 12 at Rochester Institute of Technology, Nawrocki picked up her first victories in the 500- (5:27.35) and 1,000-yard (11:15.02) freestyles. She added a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.77).
RPI fell 162-138 in the meet.
Last Friday, Grenon earned her first college victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:40.54) against Providence College. She also placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:11.80) and third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.28).
