After a standout junior season, 2017 Cheshire Academy graduate Miura Wiley has been recognized for her contributions to the College of Wooster (Ohio) women’s soccer team. Wiley, a forward who led Wooster in goals (seven) and assists (seven), was chosen as the North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Player and Tournament MVP. She also made the All-NCAC First Team.
Wiley came up clutch in the NCAC title game on Nov. 9, netting the game-winner in double overtime (109.02 mark) to clinch a 1-0 shutout at DePauw University. On a breakaway, Wiley received a pass from classmate Mila Zunch and scored to snap the stalemate.
In defending their NCAC crown, Wooster (15-2-3) qualified for the NCAA Division III playoffs. On Nov. 15, the Fighting Scots outasted Case Western Reserve University 1-0 (4-3 in penalty kicks) and then fell 1-0 the next day at Wheaton College.
