LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF CHESHIRE TOWN COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONSIDERATION OF AMENDMENTS TO BUILDING FEES ORDINANCE, SECTION 3-3 The Town Council of the Town of Cheshire will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Town Hall Council Chambers, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire, Connecticut, to consider amendments to the Section 3-3 as follows: • Sec. 3-3(a) is amended to change the building permit fee from $25.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof to “$30.00 per $1,000.00 or fraction thereof” • Sec. 3-3(a) is amended to change the building permit fee from $12.00 per each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof to “$15.00 per each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof” • Sec. 3-3(e) is deleted in its entirety. The remainder of Sec. 3-3 remains unchanged and unaltered by the foregoing amendments. Electors and citizens will be heard at the public hearing concerning this proposed ordinance. LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF CHESHIRE TOWN COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONSIDERATION OF TAX OVERPAYMENT RETENTION AND BILLING WAIVER ORDINANCE (NEW) The Town Council of the Town of Cheshire will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Town Hall Council Chambers, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire, Connecticut, to consider a Tax Overpayment Retention and Billing Waiver Ordinance (new) as follows: Waiver of Property Tax of $2.00 or Less Pursuant to §12-144c of the Connecticut General Statutes, effective with the October 1, 2022 Grand List, any property tax due to the Town of Cheshire in an amount equal to or less than two dollars ($2.00) shall be waived. Waiver of Issuance of Tax Bill for Amounts of $5.00 or Less Pursuant to §12-144c of the Connecticut General Statutes, effective with the October 1, 2022 Grand List, the Town of Cheshire Collector of Revenue shall waive the issuance of a bill for property taxes in an amount equal to or less than five dollars ($5.00). Retention of Excess Tax Payments Under $5.00 Pursuant to §12-129 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the Revenue Collector for the Town of Cheshire shall retain on behalf of the Town any tax payment in excess of the amount due provided that the amount of the excess payment is less than five dollars ($5.00) and there are no outstanding tax bills to which the excess payment can be applied and credited. Payment of Delinquent Taxes Any delinquent tax, as defined in §12-146 of the Connecticut General Statutes, shall be paid only in cash or via certified check or bank check.
